KOHLER COLORS FEATURING JONATHAN ADLER
A few of my favorite design words are ‘retro’, ‘vintage’ and ‘color’. I’m especially happy when creative minds find a way to put a new twist on a classic; making it contemporary yet timeless. Plus if there’s a way to make me happy doing dishes, I’m all for it. Read on…

There was plenty of stimuli at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. One standout was team Kohler who had a lot to celebrate and I was happy to join the party. Kohler, the global leader in the manufacture of kitchen and bath products has partnered with potter, designer and color specialist Jonathan Adler to launch four new colors available on six select enameled cast iron bathroom and kitchen sinks.
This collaboration is a first for Kohler and compliments their signature BOLD LOOK OF KOHLER tagline.
Jonathan Adler says: In every room in the house, there should be surprises and punctuation marks and there’s nothing better than a colored sink to bring a kitchen to life. I have a green sink in my home and people come over and they’re jealous. It looks amazing and everyone wants one. I don’t know why anyone would be afraid to do it.

Here’s the four special edition Kohler colors and what Jonathan Adler has to say about them (plus comments from the peanut gallery). Drumroll please…
Greenwich Green captures the beauty of the perfectly manicured lawns of an English Estate; cultured and cultivated. “This is not dull avocado green. It’s bolder, crisp and refreshing.” Now say “Tsk, tsk” with a British accent.
Piccadilly Yellow screams London’s Piccadilly Circus. A Piccadilly yellow bathroom or kitchen sink instantly fills the space with laughter. “There’s a very mod quality to Piccadilly yellow, especially when paired with white. It’s unexpected and will always feel fresh.” Don’t worry. Be happy.
Palermo Blue is a beautiful and serene splash of the Mediterranean Sea. “Like taking a dip in the Med itself. A nice, crisp light blue is cool and refreshing.” The “Med?” Really, Jonathan?
Annapolis Navy, a classic that reflects the sailing city of Annapolis on Maryland’s Severn River. ”It’s such a classic color because it pairs so well with the other bold colors.” Nautical chic indeed.
So…if you’re one of those “I like my world minimal, white and everything must be neat and tidy” yet you don’t smile a lot? Add a pop of color in your home with these beautiful sinks by Kohler and Jonathan Adler. See…doing the dishes is fun afterall!
